Tuart Forest National Park

Come face-to-face with local fauna in this pristine indigenous forest

Nature lovers and children alike enjoy the arboreal wilderness that is Tuart Forest National Park. Part of the eucalyptus family, the tuart tree is endemic to Western Australia and was once highly sought after for its strong timber. Established to protect the trees, the park represents the largest pure tuart forest in the world. Some of the most impressive specimens reach up to 33 metres in height and have a girth of around 10 metres. This is a great place to visit with kids, who can look for native animals including kangaroos and bandicoots. You can also follow a special night trail, torch in hand, in the hope of spotting the endangered western ringtail possum.
